‘My Music Is’ – Liverpool Philharmonic in Barrow Youth Hub

Songwriting project with primary school children exploring what music means in their lives; facilitating creation of lyrics, melody, chords, instrumental parts and backing track (using GarageBand) by and with young participants
Commission Kirkby Lonsdale CIC - ‘Kirkby Lonsdale Christmas Carol’ collaborating with poet Matt Sowerby - performed Dec 2022 @ Kirkby Lonsdale Christmas Festival
Working with community groups to compose a place-specific Christmas carol, reflecting themes important to local people. Led workshops and rehearsals culminating in performances by amateur music and school groups: flexible instrumentation and arrangement.

Isobel is a founder of SHOAL ensemble, a unique physical performance, new music, multimedia and experimental ensemble who specialise in creating immersive experiences. With a particular interest in improvisation and interdisciplinary collaboration, SHOAL work with a variety of artists to commission and develop new works experimenting with sound, electronics, digital technology, light, space and movement.
Their 2020 project, Seeking the Aether, was supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Seeking the Aether is a brand new collaborative project exploring the elements that make up our natural environment.
Combining music, dance, physical theatre and multimedia, the show will challenge, provoke and explore our attempts to understand and control the natural environment - from ancient ritual to scientific discovery.
