'Our Windermere' is a project supported by Great Place: Lakes and Dales combining new music, found sound and community voice.

 

Windermere brings people together. Just like the natural ecosystems it sustains, the water underpins human systems of work, leisure, tourism, travel, wellbeing and challenge for both local communities and visitors, and has done for centuries. But questions of sustainability are ever present - for both the natural landscape and for human activity. How can the lake and local area support competing needs of visitors and ‘locals’? Are they always in opposition? By bringing together the voices of past and present, this project will guide us all to reflect on what we want for the future of Windermere.
